Bristol Lead

Lead Bristol is sponsored by the Bristol Chamber of Commerce and is a 9 month training leadership program for business professionals that emphasizes skill development and community awareness.  There are about 30 business professionals in the 2013-2014 class. Each participant is required to complete a group community service project.

Our representative for Bristol Lead is Mollie O’Dell who is a Career Specialist in our Bristol office. The community service project for her LEAD Bristol group was to create a marketing plan for the Bristol Train Station to market them as wedding venue and help them to create their venue as a “wedding destination.”

Deliverables included:

•Provided a new packet tailored for the destination wedding
•Included a listing of destination wedding vendors in their new packet
•Added a wedding spin to the current Train Station logo
•Created a new destination wedding brochure
•Created  new destination wedding website
•Develop a future focused marketing plan for “Bristol’s Destination Wedding Site:  Bristol Train Station”

Mollie said, “it was so great to work with my team and the train station on this project! I love Bristol and we are so invested in making our community a truly wonderful place to work and live.”

They presented their project to the Bristol Train Station board on April 30th.  In the photo (from L to R):  Susan Taylor with VA Highlands Bank, Kahla McClure with Alpha Natural Resources, Mollie O’Dell with AccuForce, Diana Carter with Bristol, VA Housing Authority and Cindy Dinkel with Eastman Chemical Co.
